This essay examines Finnish peace marches organised between 1980–1984, during the United Nations Disarmament Week, from the perspective of gender and societal influence. The text is framed by a simple methodological question: what kind of gendered themes and events emerge regarding Finnish peace marches, when the researcher places gender history at the analytical framework’s
centre.
